5 Saving Tips for Travelers

Image
1.) Set a travel fund. -Saving can be difficult especially if you your salary is just enough for your monthly responsibilities. But saving doesn’t mean you need to put a big amount of cash in your savings account. Every centavo you save is worth it and it does count. So just put any amount and you will be surprise at the end of the day how much all that centavos will accumulate. In my case, I save the old way. Yes. THE. OLD. WAY. I’m still using a coin bank. Funny how exciting it is to open it after months, or years of saving.  2.) Shop only when you need it. -I’m not a big fan of shopping malls. I do shop but when it comes to it, I always put in mind what comes first. If I really need it, then that’s the time I will buy. If there’s a big sale, then I buy things that will surely last for years. Buy things with good quality. It can be expensive most of the time, but believe me, you will save a huge amount of money for something that has good quality, and that lasts for a very lon

A Glimpse of North Korea

So last 2016, I went to South Korea alone to explore one of my dream countries! I’m a huge fan of K-dramas and Korea has been on my bucket list since time immemorial.  I got the chance to visit the Demilitarized Zone. It is a strip of land running across the Korean Peninsula . It is established by the provisions of the Korean Armistice Agreement to serve as a buffer zone between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) and the Republic of Korea (South Korea). The demilitarized zone (DMZ) is a border barrier that divides the Korean Peninsula roughly in half. It was created by agreement between North Korea, China and the United Nations in 1953. The DMZ is 250 kilometres (160 miles) long, and about 4 kilometres (2.5 miles) wide. (Thanks Wikipedia!)  I was so excited to explore the DMZ. What will you do if there is an opportunity to see tiny part of North Korea?! Of course you will grab the opportunity. Was it safe? Yes! It is safe. DMZ is under United Nations

5 Things I Learned While Traveling

1.) Traveling made me sensitive with global issues. -When I started traveling, I became more aware and curious with what is happening with other nations. I always find myself doing a little bit of reading especially on the countries I’m planning to travel. I also became tolerant and open minded with others’ views and opinions. One example is when I went to Russia. I always think Russians are always grumpy in general,  and Russia as a country is always gloomy and not safe. It turned out to be an exact opposite.  Perfect day in Moscow 2.) Travel doesn’t have to be expensive. -For most people, traveling means out of the country. But it’s NOT. You can explore your own town and country, and be surprised with amazing places that you didn’t even know exist! I’m a proud Pinay, and have been a big fan of my island, GUIMARAS ISLAND. I always look forward coming home and share wonderful places my island can offer.  My beautiful Island 🌴  3.) I learned the value of money. -Coming from

Day Trip in Buenavista

I am a proud GUIMARASNON, and so happy to be back home last December to celebrate Christmas and New Year with my family. I’ve been to a lot of places,   but being home is always THE PLACE TO BE!   I was surprised to see there are lots of beautiful places in my municipality! Aside from Daliran, which is my childhood fave, I roam around, and was amazed how this little municipality in Guimaras improved so well. Planning to have a daytrip in Buenavista? Here are some of the sites you might wanna check.  How to get here? *Ride a pumpboat from Parola Wharf in Iloilo going to Buenavista. Fare would likely costs you 14 pesos per way.  *You can ask the Tourism Office in Buenavista wharf for a transportation service whic places you want to go, and they will explain to you the rates. Alternatively, you can also bargain a price to tricycle or jeepney drivers.  Places to See:  *Wind Mills ( Tell your driver to drive you at the VIEW POINT to enjoy the panoramic view of the windmills for f
