The Auschwitz Concentration Camp

Last 2015, my cousin and I went to Jerusalem and visited Yad Vashem. It was one of the saddest places I’ve ever been to, and just seeing those victims’ photos torn my heart into pieces. I watched different documentaries about the Holocaust and told myself that one day, I’m going to visit the most notorious death camp in the world—AUSCHWITZ in Poland.

A year after that, my dream came true. I had the opportunity to visit the camp. From Budapest, we crossed the countryside of Slovakia going to Poland.

Just merely seeing the “Arbeit Macht Frei” which means “Work Will Set You Free” sign at the entrance of the camp got me goosebumps! This is it! I’m here. I’ve been wanting to see how this place would look like and how would I feel. No words can describe how I felt when we roam around. It was definitely the most moving experience I’ve ever been on. Here are some of the photos taken from Auschwitz I  and Auschwitz-Birkenau.
