Day Trip in Buenavista

I am a proud GUIMARASNON, and so happy to be back home last December to celebrate Christmas and New Year with my family. I’ve been to a lot of places,  but being home is always THE PLACE TO BE!

I was surprised to see there are lots of beautiful places in my municipality! Aside from Daliran, which is my childhood fave, I roam around, and was amazed how this little municipality in Guimaras improved so well.

Planning to have a daytrip in Buenavista? Here are some of the sites you might wanna check.

How to get here?

*Ride a pumpboat from Parola Wharf in Iloilo going to Buenavista. Fare would likely costs you 14 pesos per way.

*You can ask the Tourism Office in Buenavista wharf for a transportation service whic places you want to go, and they will explain to you the rates. Alternatively, you can also bargain a price to tricycle or jeepney drivers.

Places to See:

*Wind Mills (Tell your driver to drive you at the VIEW POINT to enjoy the panoramic view of the windmills for free!)

*Roca Encantada (Enchanted Rock)

-This is owned by Lopez Family and located in Navalas, Buenavista. (Entrance fee at 50 pesos per head. You can have a good view of Siete Picados from the terrace.)

*Little Tagaytay or Soli’ Mountain Resort (Located in San Lorenzo, entrance fee for this resort is at 50 pesos/pax and additional fees applies for swimming and cottages. Here, you can also enjoy panoramic view of the wind mills and Negros island.)

*Daliran Spring Resort (Entrance at 20 pesos/pax and 50 pesos for entry with swimming. Cottage rates also applies when you stay longer hours or sometimes free if you want to stay for only 2-3 hours)

Where to eat?

*Guimaras Mountain Resort-located in Piña, this resort offers best food at a very reasonable price.

*Pitstop- Guimaras is best known for our sweet mangoes, and of course, Mango Pizza is highly recommended for this restaurant!

When to go?

*Best time to visit is in May. The Island of Guimaras is celebrating Manggahan Festival which is mainly located in Jordan, the capital of Guimaras. It is also the time where mangoes can be very cheap!
